So, you've come here looking for more information on pollestad.net, the site, and the man behind it all.  But before we start getting too familiar, let me ask you this: why?  Are you some kind of stalker or do you have a voyeur fetish?  Are you one of those folks that just feels the need to know everything?  Well, whatever it is, thanks for stopping by.  Refreshments are in the kitchen, the bathroom is around the corner, and the children are for sale.

This site was founded in mid-2000, mostly so I could have a cool email address.  It eventually evolved into a personal portal of sorts, with me posting code, music, and links that either I created or thought were cool.  Slowly, it began evolving into a platform for me to bitch about how bad my life was and how much I hated this and that.  Typical Livejournal stuff.  Except, to my credit, this was before Livejournal existed.  Site attendance was low and even friends didn't really care to visit.  I kept at it because I am a persistent and naive mother fucker.

Flash forward a few years and still nothing changed.  Around April of 2005, shortly after the site's 5th birthday, I decided that I was going to shut it down.  I was putting a good deal of effort into updating the site and yet still attendance was minimal.  Nevermind that I was ignoring the real cause: no one gives a shit about what I do in my day to day life.  Since the hits were mostly from friends who knew what I was doing already, it eventually struck me as a little redundant.  Well, someone let it slip that they thought I was funny and the site took off in an entirely different direction.  As of this writing, I no longer post anything personal or related to my daily life.  Now updates are done almost daily, but with an angle at being humorous and random.

The site now stands as mostly a mailing list repository since all my updates also get emailed out to readers.  Viewing is no longer optional and I believe Congress will be passing a bill shortly to make it part of daily education.  You have stumbled upon this website and now you can never leave.
